In a pioneering endeavor, Caudalie commits to remove the same amount of plastic they use.
Through Caudalie’s 100% Plastic Collect Initiative, they have already collected 2,225 tons of plastic from the environment since 2020.
Now in its fourth year, their project with their partners, Second Life, in Ko Lanta, Thailand supports the local community of waste pickers to recover plastic waste from their coastlines.
They achieve this through a clever transitional mechanism that financially incentivizes efforts that reduce plastic waste. It helps develop circular plastic supply chains that get plastic out of our environments and return it back into the system.
It’s just the beginning, as Caudalie continues to also increase the recycled content in their packaging in an iterative evolution as we move from a waste-creating world to the bigger goal of 100% closed loop, circular supply chains.
What else do you think skincare brands could do to take greater responsibility in this issue?
